ABOUT FOXTON PRESCHOOL

Since 1978, Foxton Preschool has provided a welcoming and nurturing environment where young children can play, learn, and develop important social skills. As a valued part of the local community, we are passionate about giving every child the best possible start to their learning journey.

Opening Hours

Foxton Preschool operates from Foxton Village Hall five days a week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

We offer flexible attendance options to suit the needs of each child and family, including:

• Full-day sessions (9:00am to 3:00pm)

• Morning sessions (9:00am to 12:00pm)

• Afternoon sessions (12:00pm to 3:00pm)

Session patterns are agreed collaboratively between parents and staff to ensure they best support each child's individual development and wellbeing.

For additional convenience, we also offer:

• Breakfast Club: 8:00am to 9:00am

• After Preschool Club: 3:00pm to 4:00pm

Outdoor Learning and Local Community

We are fortunate to have access to a wonderful private garden, which children enjoy daily whenever weather permits. This outdoor space supports our Forest School-inspired approach, encouraging exploration, curiosity, independence, and a connection with nature.

Located in the heart of the village, the preschool is ideally situated near the recreation ground, historic dovecote and meadow, local shop, and church. These community spaces provide valuable opportunities for walks, outdoor learning experiences, and local visits that enrich children's understanding of the world around them.

Strong Links with Foxton Primary School

Foxton Preschool enjoys a close and positive relationship with Foxton Primary School, helping to ensure a smooth and confident transition into Reception.

Throughout the year, primary school pupils regularly visit the preschool to read, play, and interact with the children. Our preschool children also join the school community for special assemblies, celebrations, and events.

During their final months at preschool, children attend regular transition sessions at Foxton Primary School, helping them become familiar with their new environment, build confidence, and develop positive relationships before starting school in September.

Our Team

Foxton Preschool is led by Kelly Dunne, supported by a dedicated and experienced team including Kerry Gaylor and Charlie West.

The preschool is further supported by an active management committee made up of parents and members of the local community, many of whom have children attending either the preschool or Foxton Primary School. Together, they help ensure the preschool continues to provide a high-quality, enriching experience for every child.

We would be delighted to welcome you to Foxton Preschool and show you how we help children learn, grow, and flourish through play.

Foxton Preschool is supported by a vibrant parent-led committee who share a close working relationship with Kelly (manager). The role of the committee is to provide support to the manager with the overall governance of the preschool, helping to maintain its high standards of care and compliance. Quarterly meetings are held face-to-face with an online option for flexibility.

The current Chair is Beth Pyle. Her eldest son is at Foxton Primary School and her youngest will be starting with the Preschool in 2026.
